Social Skill Builder Software Boosts Test Scores

Does the Social Skill Builder approach, which combines social stories with interactive technology, produce measurable results in the real world? A 2004 study, conducted in Loudoun County, Virginia public schools, tested students learning social skills in a traditional therapeutic setting against students who used Social Skill Builder software. The students using Social Skill Builder’s My School Day software achieved significant gains in every category of the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales, including Communication, Daily Living Skills, Socialization, and Adaptive Behavior.
