Among the dozens of video scenarios presented are getting lunch, waiting in line, and eating in the school cafeteria, plus talking to friends or "just hanging out" in the hallway. Each situation offers an opportunity for the child to build friendship and relationship skills and increase his or her social awareness. This volume also addresses time management, organizational skills and the use of schedules at school.
Unlike passive videos, this software gives children the opportunity to see social situations re-enacted by peers and then choose the best thing to say or do next. In this fun, familiar, but safe environment, children can become increasingly aware of social expectations and more successfully interact with other students. Customized lesson plans for use by teachers and parents feature specific video scenarios based on individual needs.
